As a student at Southampton University I am in my third and final year studying a BSc in a Management with Entrepreneurship.
I was elected on to the committee of the entrepreneurship society at Southampton, named Fish on Toast, 3 months after beginning my first year. Previously I spent just over a year as the Societies Sponsorship Director, raising finance to fund the weekly events and competitions that the society hosts.
In March of 2011 I was elected as the Vice President of Southampton Entrepreneurs, taking a step up to help lead the society and play a key role in running this year.
Alongside my degree and commitments to the society I was shortlisted into the final 10 Management Undergraduate students in the UK in an award hosted by Target Jobs. I have also developed businesses of my own, the first being a student based information website launched in my first year of University which went on to win a Shell LiveWIRE Grand Ideas Award in 2010. I have also had other start ups including an international calls service, online stores and design.
In October 2011 I won Richard Bransons competition #SuitcaseRace, where I met Richard Branson himself, interviewed him on entrepreneurship, and then set off to New York for the weekend courtesy of Virgin.
